OUR CLIENT
KIPP Memphis Collegiate Schools (KMCS) is a part of a national network of over 180 free, open-enrollment, college preparatory, public charter schools that prepare students from under-served communities for success in college and in life.
THE NEED
Through close communication and collaboration with the Chief of Schools, the following areas of need were identified:
- Objective assessment of high impact systems or “big rocks” for two schools
- Identification of growth areas
- Recommendations for improvement
OUR SOLUTION
- School Diagnostics performed for two schools consisting of evidence-based ratings on the big rocks of school-wide systems, in-class instruction, and culture. The school diagnostic also identified strengths, upgrades, and provided recommendations for improvement.
- KIPP Memphis / BRES aligned framework created and used for the school diagnostics. The framework identifies three big rocks that lead to school success and aligns the KIPP instructional and cultural frameworks (KFET and HIIP) with the BRES frameworks.
CLIENT BENEFIT
- The school diagnostic enables the KMCS Chief of Schools and principals to prioritize, plan and implement the big rocks to increase student achievement.
- The aligned framework ensures consistent assessment of the big rocks for the two KMCS schools.
