OUR CLIENT

Teaching Trust, established in 2011, has a well-deserved reputation for training current and aspiring urban school leaders to empower change at the campus level.  Through three Leadership Programs and with support from the Teaching Trust Alumni Network, Teaching Trust works to build professional capacity to transform urban schools.

THE NEED

Through close communication and collaboration with all key stakeholders, the following areas of need were identified:

  • School Diagnostics to measure the effectiveness of data practices, instructional practices and culture at 29 urban schools participating in Teaching Trust programs.
  • Coaching and intervention for school leaders participating in Teaching Trust programs who needed additional support around growth areas identified by BRES school diagnostic.

OUR SOLUTION

  • Teaching Trust / BRES aligned framework created and used for the school diagnostics. The framework identifies high impact systems that lead to school success and aligns the Teaching Trust competencies with the BRES frameworks.
  • School diagnostics performed at the beginning and end of the year for the 29 urban schools participating in Teaching Trust programs.
  • Data-based report of findings delivered to school leaders identified and recommended the highest impact school systems to prioritize and implement.
  • Targeted coaching sessions delivered to school leaders laid out the specific steps of how to implement a high impact system.

  • The aligned framework ensures consistent prioritization and implementation of the highest impact systems across all schools participating in Teaching Trust programs.
  • Data collected on the aligned framework during the school diagnostics enables the school leaders to prioritize, plan and implement the appropriate high impact system(s) to increase student achievement. The report of findings also shows the growth and effectiveness of the schools throughout the school year.
  • Targeted coaching sessions delivered to school leaders enables them to implement the high impact systems to high fidelity in order to increase student achievement.
