OUR CLIENT

Established in 2003, KIPP Dallas-Fort Worth is a region of the Knowledge is Power Program (KIPP), which is a national network of free, open-enrollment, college preparatory, public charter schools with a track record of preparing students in underserved communities for success in college and in life.

THE NEED

Through close communication and collaboration with the regional academics team and KIPP Truth Elementary leadership team, the following areas of need were identified:

• Prioritization and ongoing implementation of the school’s instructional big rocks
• Selection and prioritization of the big rocks of school operations for the 2016-2017 school year as the Director of Operations prepares to manage the operational systems of KIPP Truth Elementary and KIPP Truth Academy

OUR SOLUTION

• Monthly coaching sessions with KIPP Truth Elementary School Leader
  centered around:
  • ongoing implementation of KIPP Truth Elementary’s big rocks using the BRES Effective Coaching Framework
• Monthly coaching sessions with KIPP Truth Elementary Director of Operations                centered around:
  • selecting big rocks for the 2016-2017 school year
  • creating action items for each big rock
  • determining metrics for performance
  • determining how to measure performance
  • assigning person(s) responsible for action items associated with each big rock
  • creating systems to ensure at least 75% of the Director of Operations’ time is scheduled and prioritized on ongoing implementation of the big rocks of school operations

• Coaching sessions focused on KIPP Truth Elementary’s big rocks of school operations that are aligned to KIPP DFW’s district priorities ensure that schools are safe, efficient, nurturing, financially healthy, and resources are readily available and aligned to educational big rocks to enable the highest level of student achievement.
