2014 – 2015

OUR CLIENT

Established in 2003, KIPP Dallas-Fort Worth is a region of the Knowledge is Power Program (KIPP), which is a national network of free, open-enrollment, college preparatory, public charter schools with a track record of preparing students in underserved communities for success in college and in life.

THE NEED

Through close communication and collaboration with the regional academics team, the following areas of need were identified:

  • Regional consistency – A consistent assessment of these systems across all schools to ensure alignment with network priorities
  • Implementation of high impact systems – Ensuring its two new schools are starting on day one of the upcoming 2015-2016 school year with high impact systems, or “big rocks”, in order to produce high student achievement at a college readiness level of rigor for the KIPPsters it serves

OUR SOLUTION

  • BRES/KIPP DFW School Walkthrough Template created and to be used for regional school diagnostics
  • The template identifies high impact systems that lead to school success and aligns the KIPP Framework for Excellent Teaching with the BRES frameworks and big rocks.
  • Monthly coaching sessions with Fisher Fellows on planning and implementation of the highest impact systems as the fellows open their two new schools, respectively, for the 2015-2016 school year

CLIENT BENEFIT

  • The BRES/KIPP DFW School Walkthrough Template ensures consistent prioritization and implementation of high impact systems across all schools in the KIPP DFW network.
  • Coaching sessions focused on the highest impact systems that are aligned to KIPP DFW’s district priorities ensure that the two new schools will start with strong systems in place to produce high student achievement in year one.
